2025

Dec. 11-13, 2025. As the concluding event of the InovFarmer.MED project, the 2nd Symposium on Mediterranean Fruit & Vegetables: Hub for Innovation will be organized on Dec. 11-13, 2025 in Agadir at Ibn Zohr University.

Oct. 22-23, 2025. Dr Seifeddine Jomaa from UFZ research center and coordinator of PRIMA OurMED project organized the Mediterranean Water Management Workshop in Magdeburg, Germany. The event will serve as a forum for interdisciplinary scientists with complementary expertise to address “The Mediterranean Paradox”, a region that simultaneously faces severe water stress while also serving as one of the world’s most advanced testing grounds for water management innovation. Many representatives of PRIMA projects participate in the panels to fuel the discussions based on the lessons learned from Living-Labs and Piloting Programs in these projects.

This workshop, organised by the Research Unit Water (TB2), is supported by the UFZ initiative “From Planetary Boundaries to Planetary Solutions” and moderated by the NextGen4MED initiative. See the LinkedIn post from the organizer.

On Apr. 30th, 2025, InovFarmer.MED organized a Conference on Transforming Agri-Food Supply Chain for a Sustainable Future in collaboration with the Arab Academy of Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport. The Conference took place in Alexandria, Egypt, and we are excited about the possibilities it holds. The thematic areas are as follows:

    • Digital solutions for building resilient and efficient agri-food supply chain
    • Healthy foods towards transformative changes
    • Advancing ingredients and processing solutions for food and agriculture
    • Business models for equity and farmer empowerment

This Conference will provide an excellent platform to the Resilient Smallholder Initiative activities, fostering dialogue and collaboration. See the program and the e-book with all the presented abstracts.

2024

The first webinar organized by the newly created Resilient Smallholder Initiative will take place on November 21st, 2024. The main purpose is to have short presentations from all contributing partners to identify how the group is addressing the various aspects of smallholders’ resilience as a preparation to future working groups and activities.
